Annabelle walks out of the building, feeling happy and excited about how the interview went. She can't wait to tell her mother all about it. As she walks home, she thinks about how her life could change if she gets the job.As she approaches the coffee shop, Annabelle sees her mother working behind the counter, serving customers. She can't help but smile and rush over to her.
"Mom! Mom!" she calls out. Her mother looks up and smiles when she sees Annabelle. "Hi sweetheart," her mom greets her. "You seem excited about something. How did the interview go?""It was great, Mom!" Annabelle replies, her face lighting up. "I think I did really well. They seemed to like me and I felt confident answering all their questions."Her mom smiles widely, clearly happy and proud of Annabelle. "That's fantastic, sweetheart!" she says, placing her hands on Annabelle's shoulders. "I'm thrilled for you and cross my fingers that you'll get the job."
Back at the company, Great! Here's a possible start to the scene:
Xavier leaned back in his chair, his thoughts racing as he replayed the interview with Annabelle in his mind. He couldn't deny that there was something about her that was different from the other applicants. She was smart, articulate, and had a certain spark that caught his attention. But at the same time, there was something in her eyes that made him wonder if she was hiding something. He didn't like uncertainty, and the thought of hiring her made him feel a little uneasy.
James enters the office and takes a seat across from Xavier, who is still lost in thought. He takes a moment to observe Xavier before speaking.
"Hey," he says, breaking the silence. "You look lost in thought. How'd the interview go with the new girl?"
James waits for a moment, watching Xavier's expression. When it becomes clear that Xavier is still lost in thought, James decides to speak up again.
"Xavier," he says, drawing Xavier's attention back to him. "Hey, earth to Xavier. Did the interview go well? Or are you lost in thought about something else?"
Xavier snaps out of his thoughts as he hears James' voice. He looks at James, realizing that he's been lost in thought for a moment.
"Oh, uh, yeah," he says, composing himself. "The interview went fine, I suppose. The girl was smart and all, but I'm not sure if she's the right fit."
James raises an eyebrow at Xavier's uncertainty.
"What do you mean you're not sure if she's the right fit?" he asks, crossing his arms. "She seemed quite qualified to me. Plus, she had a great energy about her and she's pretty."Xavier shakes his head a little, still not completely sold on the idea.
"I don't know," he says, frowning slightly. "I just get a sense that she might be hiding something. She seemed a little too perfect, you know?"
James smirks at Xavier's concern.
James leans back in his chair and lets out a small laugh.
"You're overthinking it, Xavier," he says with a chuckle. "She's new and excited. Of course she's going to try and make a good first impression. That doesn't mean she's hiding something."
Xavier still looks a little skeptical, but he nods slightly, trying to dismiss his doubts.
"Maybe," he says hesitantly. "But I still have my reservations. I'll need to think about it."
