My name is Elizabeth. How can life be so cruel to me. My mother name is called hmmm I forgot I don't have one and I never had. I used to live with an old woman called Lily I never knew the relationship I had with her till her last breath. She died when I was six years old. A lady used to visit us I didn't know who she was Auntie Lily used to take care of me all the time that woman just come and chat with Auntie Lily then leave. She never spent a night with us. Auntie Lily felt sick and died the people in the village started mocking me Some kids even threw stones at me One day that lady visited me gave me food and clothes to wear. I was very happy then I thought she was going to take care of me but she took me to a different village and left me in some hut and she left telling me that she will be back Day went by without a trace of her. No food nor water I had to go to the market every day and beg for food and drink water from the river. I had no one to take care of me I had to try and survive on my own. I used to gather refuse from the market and sent them to the outskirt of the village in exchange for food. On faithful day in the outskirt of the village I meet someone a saviour Mr. Simon Sparks oh God how grateful I was when he took me home gave me good food and a nice dress to wear.Mr. Sparks owned a grocery store in the village. He worked there with his first three sons. I was so happy when I saw my room it was small but gorgeous. I used to do most of the household chores but I was happy since there was only boys infact six boys Maxwell, Martin, Mark, Michael, Andrew and Jack the youngest he was a year older than me I was seven by the His wife was so calm and good hearted Rose Sparks a mother of seven boys the house was always full of laughter and I wasn't considered as and outsider I always felt at home no worries Food was always available so I had nothing to worry about ah what a comfortable life I woke up early to clean the house and wash dishes after meal. Jack and l was getting along pretty well we use to play at the backyard during my free time nothing to worry about. Betty!!! Betty!! Mrs. Sparks I responded and went downstairs since I was in my room doing nothing seriously but I was really attached to my room I only comes out when I have something to do or I'm going to play please what can I do for you madam I asked. She asked me to clean her sons washrooms this was the first time after staying here for a year I was nine by then I rushed to get the necessary items for the cleaning I started from Maxwell's room he was sleeping so I thought. I went to the washroom and started my work and he came there staring at me I got nervous a bit but I had a lot of other rooms to clean so I focus on my work what can a man like him want from a nine years old girl I cleaned all the rooms and my bones were killing me like hell but what could I do as the saying goes suffer to gain I went to the kitchen afterwards ate my meal and wash dishes even though I was so exhausted I went to bed afterwards. I heard so much noises in my sleep where is all these noises coming from I opened my eyes ooh God what is maxwell doing here all drunk I called martin and he helped me take him to his room. He was too heavy for my age and I kept wondering why he was in my room any that's not my problem, I already have enough going on under my sleeves. The next morning I woke up quite early and there was a woman in the the kitchen I got scared upon seeing her so I asked nervously who are you and what are you doing here as if I was the owner of the house. The beautiful blonde hair woman replied I'm Ruth the new house made and you're she asked and I replied I'm betty. Well little girl you should try and get more sleep okay when I'm done with the cooking you can then come and wash the dishes. I hope that's why you're here she asked and I nodded.So I went back to my room and freshened up and then came down stairs for my meal and performed my duties afterwards
Everything went on as every other day I do my duties each day without causing any mess
