Chapter 12The night hadn’t gone as Oliver had expected, but it had still been wonderful. The three of them had camped out in the living room, listening to Norah’s stories until she fell asleep. Oliver and Ron sat on the sofa, holding hands. At some point, Oliver rested his head on Ron’s shoulder and drifted off to sleep. When he’d fallen asleep, he wasn’t sure, but when he opened his eyes, sunshine flooded into the dining room. He was alone in the living room, but the sound of a spatula scraping a skillet told him where he needed to look. Ron stood at the stove, dressed and taking sips from a white coffee mug in between stirring whatever was in the skillet. Norah sat at the table and smiled when she saw Oliver headed her way. “Ron’s burning the eggs.” Ron winced as Oliver approached. “
