Author's note

990 Words
This is an author’s note to explain the absence and situation regarding this and some of my other stories.   To start with, I hope that everyone is staying safe and healthy right now. The world is scary and right now apps like Dreame can help to get us through, with new stories and content daily.    So, I started ‘Scared to be lonely’ ( my first werewolf story and story on Dreame) because I saw that the werewolf genre was popular amongst the Dreame readers. I have mostly only ever written fanfiction before hand so this felt like a step up. Rather than writing a completely unique story, I decided to follow a cliché. This hasn’t helped me as a writer as I keep clinging to safety nets rather than gaining the courage to branch off into my won material.    I love werewolf stories as much as the next person on this app but for me my own story didn’t feel genuine. I feel like ‘runaway mate’ was just a repeat of what had already been told before. There’s cliché after cliché; nothing particularly memorable because it didn’t bring anything new or exciting.    Whilst ‘runaway mate’ only has one chapter, the direction wasn’t planned well by me so it would have a messy plot with lots of loop holes. Out of all my werewolf stories, it would have been the most unique but still nothing overly amazing that I would be proud of.    After a lot of thinking and considering, I have decided to put all of my werewolf stories on hiatus. I know that many people were looking forward to seeing where these stories went but I cannot write something that my heart isn’t fully invested in.    To combat this, I have also come up with three exciting/new plots I really want to delve into.   Plot one- the seven maidens of Aphrodite:   Waking up in a strange fantastical world, Cami had no memories of her own being. Mind blanked from an unknown force. People around her claimed that she had been reborn into a new world. A world in which she would serve the goddess of love and beauty: Aphrodite.    Cami has to learn quickly. The life of one of Aphrodite’s maidens is as hectic as it is rewarding. For her sacrifice in the mortal realm for love (which she cannot remember), Cami gained her title as well as a newfound immortality in Olympus. However, there is a price, Cami must help mortals unlucky in love to find their own happiness.    The more tasks Cami completes, the closer she comes to discovering the truth about her mortal life.   Triumph, friendship, and even love await Cami on her adventure through this mystical new life. Helped by her fellow maidens and the pesky follower of Hermes- Arrow- that won’t leave her alone.   But there is another part of being a maiden of Aphrodite: if you find true love, you can forfeit your immortality in exchange for a long mortal life with your lover. Full of peace, harmony and good health.   Plot 2- The wisps in the woods.   Wisps are banned creatures. Many years ago, the Powered Ones hunted them all down and exterminated them. Human life could prevail without the hexes and curses of the wisps.   At least that’s what the fairytales say.    Deep in the forest, outside of the human hunting grounds by many miles, are the remaining wisp population. They live in solitude and secrecy. Barriers protect their identities as they wait for the day they can integrate back into society.    Seraphina was raised by the leader of the tribe, after she was the only survivor in her family. She harnesses a gift of healing that is only trainable by her adoptive father.    After Sera unknowingly rescues the prince of the human world, she begins an adventure of love and tolerance. She learns of the world beyond the forest barrier, a world where different forms of cruelty roam.   However, with the Powered Ones still a massive force on the kingdom, the budding love between Seraphina and the prince will face many challenges and obstacles. Then again, the course of true love never did run smooth…   Plot 3- The Butterfly House.   On the top of the tallest hill in a small mountainous village, resides the popular tourist attraction: The Butterfly House. Each day dozens of people pass through, gazing wondrously at the different butterflies and plants. None of which compare to the Brazilian Wildflower Butterfly.   The special butterfly has wings that appear to be made out of real gold! They shine and flutter, releasing yellow tinged sparkles that disappear when caught. There are only six of them left, and they all live in The Butterfly House.   Unknown to the tourists and the rest of the world, these butterflies become gorgeous fairies when the curtain of night descends upon the house.    They gain the bodies of humans, with the stunning wings of butterflies. Hair wild colours and eyes even more vibrant, these creatures are the definition of literal beauty. Only the old professor, the owner of The Butterfly House, knows of this secret and vows to keep them safe in the glass walls of the gardens. Yet Astelle longs to experience the outside world.   One night, a band of travelling thieves break in. They steal many butterflies including Astelle and a friend of her kind Cora. Out in the world, they can only hope for survival. Strangely, the travelling thieves seem accepting and trusting. Maybe the outside world isn’t as dangerous as the professor told them?   Those are the three story proposals I have. If you could vote towards your favourite that would be a great help. I feel excited and happy to write these stories as they may have some cliché in places but they have a unique element that makes them stand out.   I apologise for getting people’s hopes up with the stories I am now putting on hiatus, but the quality would only go downhill if I continued them and you guys deserve a well thought out high quality story.   Stay safe and thanks for the support,   The Author.
