Chapter 5Monday, October 13th, 2014 Bramson Bay, Oregon My apprehensions about Bramson Bay didn’t evaporate when Lockwood and I went on into Maybelle’s, following Dolores inside, but I could put them aside for a minute. The interior of the house smelled of home-baked cookies and there was a sort of potpourri in a bowl on the small hall table just inside the door. I still felt Dolores’ excitement as she bubbled over about the amenities. Home-cooked meals, by her of course, plus comfortable rooms and plenty of hot water.
