After Hesperia's abilities got acknowledged by the four continents, Xanthos will discover his ability of magic amplification. In other words, he can make someone ten time stronger that they originally are.
In the novel, Xanthos found his ability to be a bit overwhelming. There were many strength driven maniacs around the continent, having an ability that can strengthen someone tenfold is considered as a honeypot for those maniacs. In addition, doesn't having a flimsy human being that you can use to increase your strength anytime a little dangerous? In the end Xanthos sworn to only use his ability on Hesperia.
“Then they'll fall in love with each other…”
Asterlayna spoke alone while making her way through the dense forest.
After a good while of walking through the dense forest, Asterlayna finally reached the cave she was looking for.
“...I definitely remember this place.”
The cave that she was currently facing was once mentioned in the novel.
It was a cave filled with natural magic crystals that will be discovered by Hesperia as she seeks a temporary shelter to heal her wounds from the first wave of the war. The cave was adjacent to the borders, but fortunately, it was still within the territory of the nine tailed fox.
“Light.”
Asterlayna muttered and in a blink of an eye, three light orbs as big as a human being’s head began to appear and float in the air. Asterlayna also created smaller ones, sending them into the dark cave to light a pathway first.
Knowing that there's no danger waiting for her arrival and after confirming that there was no presence of a living being, Asterlayna made her way inside the cave.
Within just a few meters deep inside the cave, magic crystals infused with rich mana was already entering Asterlayna's sight.
Just imagining how much these crystal can be sold was already tugging a long smile from Asterlayna. Of course, she never planned on selling the crystals.
‘Hesperia will definitely get stronger with these…’
Onggg…
As Asterlayna placed a finger on top of a crystal that was sticking out form one side of the cave, the crystal began to shine a bright light, lighting up a section of the cave.
“Nice…This seems-”
“Wow.”
Asterlayna's body froze in place after hearing a calm, yet strangely menacing voice. Her head and eyes stayed glued to the crystal in front of her.
‘Who the heck?! I didn't sense anybody's presence before entering!’
Blade of wind, light, fire and all sorts of elements began to crackle and surround Asterlayna. Without even noticing the accidental spells she unconsciously casted, Asterlayna whipped her head to the direction of the voice with sharp eyes.
“Who are you?”
Asterlayna grimly asked. Due to the robe that was covering her, her bright red eyes because even brighter. Asterlayna's pale lavender hued hair was kept messily hidded under the hood of the robe, only a few strands being visible.
But despite her appeance and the unsupervised spells swarming Asterlayna, the being that was standing in the deeper part of the cave seemed to be unfazed.
“Now, now…You don't have to get violent…”
The voice of the man echoed through the cave, creating a dome of menacing tone that somehow reached Asterlayna's head.
The light orbs Asterlayna created couldn't reach the area where the man was standing. The man was till hidden well inside the depths of the darkness.
“As for your question…”
Asterlayna didn't have to go out of her way to move the light orbs closer to where the man was standing, the man was the one who willing stepped into the light.
Now that the man's face was illuminated, Asterlayna finally had a decent look at the man's face.
“It would be rude for you to say you don't remember me…”
The man chuckled at his own statement.
However, Asterlayna only focused on examining the man's appearance.
Eyes deeper than any shade of any amethysts, hair darker than any coal. A face with well defined features and porcelain like skin…
‘Wow this man is good looking…’
Asterlayna wholeheartedly thought.
Her grim and humorless expression slowly loosened up, thinking that the man was not harmful.
“It's an honor to meet with the nine tailed fox once again…”
The man gave a shallow bow before smiling.
‘Again?’
Asterlayna furrowed her brows, her expression turning into a confused one.
Clara doubted that the original nine tailed fox stumbled upon a figure similar to the man, nor was it ever mentioned in the novel that the nine tailed fox had a male acquaintance. In fact, the novel mentioned that the nine tailed fox loved to live in seclusion and barely made contact with the empire…
‘So why?’
Why was the man speaking in an informal tone with her? Why was the man so certain that she was the nine tailed fox?
“...You are?”
In the end, Asterlayna could only ask the man who he was.
Asterlayna slowly removed her hand away from the magic crystal and faced the man properly. Contrary to her previous expression, her face was now somewhat calmer and more relaxed.
“Y-you don't remember me?!”
But compared to the situation before, the man was now the shocked and agitated one. Asterlayna furrowed her brows deeper in confusion and shook her head.
“How could you?! I'm the warlock of the east!”
The man declared in a mad and panicked state. Asterlayna thought if she should just make a run for it, the man seemed like he was in a state of insanity to have a decent conversation with.
“Are you too great to even remember a fellow mythical being?...”
After the self-proclaimed warlock threw a tantrum, he sat flat on the cold ground, hugging his knees.
‘The f*ck is wrong with this guy?...He’s insane…’
Now, Asterlayna didn't even think twice about running away. She slowly backed away from the man, but before she could take another step back, the man yelled iut again.
“Hold on! You can't think about running away!”
The man quickly scurried to get closer to Asterlayna, but he wasn't able to do so. Asterlayna quickly casted a magic barrier, separating the man from her. The man placed his forehead against the barrier emitting a soft golden light before speaking.
“I want to talk to you! It's about the allied kingdoms! So get back here before I wreck this barrier open!”
