Rowan's POV I stood exactly where Ash had left me, staring at the empty space in the hallway like I could will him back into it, like if I stared hard enough the air would spit him out again and I could demand answers, demand why he let another boy hold him, demand why my chest felt like it was being clawed open from the inside.
