Author’s POV
The murmurs in the room escalated into sheer, electric chaos.
Three consecutive bids. One after another. Each executed with surgical precision. Sharp as a blade.
But the last move? It was a statement. One point five million. Dropped like a gauntlet. As if saying, ‘Mine. End of discussion.’
“Has Bidder 923 gone completely mad?” a she-wolf hissed. Her tone scornful. “Does she have any idea who she’s challenging?”
“Oh please, everyone clearly knows that ‘Ava’ is Gregory’s guest. This is his pack’s event. Do you actually think he’d be blind to what’s happening right now?”
“Then what exactly is this? An outright declaration of war?”
“Alpha Jake’s companion might be holding the paddle. But everyone can see that Alpha Jake is the one 823 just publicly slapped across the face!”
