Angela’s POV I smiled warmly at Andre. “Good evening, Andre. It’s me, Angela.” Andre kept his eyes on me as I removed my mask. His expression registering only mild curiosity rather than shock. Taking my cue, I brought out the premium coffee blend Gregory had prepared ahead of time and moved to Andre’s sideboard. I carefully measured the grounds and packed them into the French press. “Gregory mentioned that this Sumatran reserve is your favorite. Shall I make you a cup?” I offered. My movements deft and practiced. Andre responded with a noncommittal grunt. Except for the sound of boiling water and the quiet hiss as it met the coffee grounds, the entire room was dead silent.
