I wasn't expecting the retreat to be set up this way.
The location was just too good to be true. Tall pines swayed in the middle of the woods even when there was no breeze.
The main lodge was straight out of a magazine, with glass walls, warm golden lights, and a lavender smell. But the silence was so heavy that it became uncomfortable.
It all seemed like a trap that was dressed up to look nice.
