CHAPTER TWENTY TWO Gwendolyn woke in luxurious bedding, awakened by the distant, gentle song of the birds, a light breeze stirring through the drapes and into her chamber—and for a moment she forgot where she was. She opened her eyes and stretched in bed, feeling more comfortable than she ever had, feeling as if she had slept for a million years, and she remembered: the Ridge. She was in the King’s castle.
