On his way back from his house Dean took the time to go through and analyze the events of the day. Even though going to the city for the whole week and partying with his friends like before made him momentarily forget his inner turmoils. They came back full force when he was at the bar.
If he was honest with himself Dean knew that he really liked Kat. He realized this when she came to the river unhappy about something and all he wanted to do was pull her in his arms and comforter.
