The next morning found Kat putting a brave face on at work although inside she was still reeling from her father's visit. She had not told anyone, not even Harriet because she felt a little ashamed that the only reason her family sought after her was because of the shares. Any dream she might have had to one day be part of the family she realized was probably impossible. "Hey Kat, can I get another slice of your pecan pie.
