Chapter 13: A Chance Meeting

I didn't have time to fully ponder on what Jen had told me before Shirley came down with a horrid flu. On her doctor's orders she was required to remain in bed, only getting up to shower and use the toilet. Other than that she was under complete lockdown, which in my opinion was a bit of an overreaction. Shirley was not so severely sick that she was bedridden, but accepted the doctor's advice after the insistence of her father.
As her best friend who was also currently her guest, I decided to stay with her until she recovered. I phoned Helen to let her know the situation, she was all too happy to let me stay in on the off chance that I was contagious as well.
I had been filling my quota at work so that helped my case as well.
