Tiara's POV
“Stop!” I yelled, but he wouldn't listen
There was a stranger on top of me, pulling off my trousers with force. I looked around for a weapon or anything I could use to push him off as my vision began to blur
“Stay put,” the stranger growled in a dangerous tone.
Tears trickled down my eyes as I realized that I was hopeless.
Sofia had pleaded with me earlier that day to take a break from work, but I couldn’t.
I had bills to pay.
Bang!
I heard a loud sound, and the stranger dropped lifeless on me.
No soul was in sight, but I could swear someone hit the stranger. I opened my mouth to scream, but words failed me.
Could it be that I was hallucinating?
I struggled to lift the stranger's body and staggered as I got on my feet.
“Hello?” I whispered
No response.
I bent down to check if the stranger was still breathing and was relieved to see he was.
Whoever chose to save me that night didn't want to reveal his identity, but I was grateful that I didn't get r***d.
How was I going to explain to Jeff that I lost my virginity to a stranger who r***d me on the road?
“Thank you,” I whispered into thin air.
I picked up my purse from the ground and ran towards the light; I was still trembling from the incident and couldn’t wait to get home.
Jeff had made me understand that if I didn’t come to his place that night, the relationship would be over.
I had pushed Jeff enough for the week and knew better than to make him angry.
The sound of my phone made me jump, and I checked to see that Jeff had left several messages for me.
I opened them and sighed as they were all threats. It hurt me to see Jeff wasn’t even concerned about my well-being.
My phone started to ring, and I sighed.
“Tiara! Who the hell do you think you are to ignore my messages?” Jeff yelled over the phone.
“I’m sorry, on my way to your place, a stranger tried to—
“Keep that information to yourself! If you don’t get here in the next five minutes, forget about this relationship,” Jeff reminded me and hung up
I dropped my phone in my purse and burst into another round of tears. His reaction hurt me, and it made my heart ache.
My mind went to Nathan.
We had barely spoken, and I missed him.
I looked at my watch to see if I would make it before my five minutes elapsed.
Jeff was outside the house, and I felt a pinch of relief. It meant he was worried about me but didn’t know how to express it.
“You are one minute late,” Jeff scoffed, looking at me in disgust.
I looked at myself and realized my clothes were torn and my trousers weren’t properly zipped. Fear had made me run to his house without checking my clothes.
“I’m sorry I look like a mess; I was almost r***d on my way here,” I explained
Jeff burst into laughter and clapped his hands mockingly.
“Why would I believe someone tried to r**e you? Do you think you are all that!” Jeff retorted, his laughter dying instantly.
“I’m not lying to you; that’s why my clothes are torn,” I interjected
“I don’t care about your encounters; just get inside” Jeff replied
I held the tears that threatened to fall as I entered the room.
“Why are you suddenly quiet?” Jeff asked, and I shook my head.
I wasn’t about to nag about Jeff’s attitude, as I had learned the hard way.
Jeff had a way of making me feel stupid anytime I nagged him.
“Can I use the shower?” I asked in a calm voice.
“Go ahead,” Jeff replied
“Thank you,” I muttered
Tears rolled down my eyes, but I hid it from Jeff.
I walked into the bathroom and felt something was off, but I couldn’t place my finger around it.
“Hurry up and come out! We need to talk,” Jeff yelled
I sighed and slowly pulled off my dress. I had expected him to offer me a shirt or even try consoling me.
The incident flashed through my mind, and I hurriedly cleaned myself up.
“Is there something wrong?” I asked, stepping out in my torn dress
“I need some money,” Jeff blurted out
I wanted to yell and tell him to go f**k himself, but I couldn’t.
“What for?” I asked
Jeff took a step closer to me, and I instinctively stepped back. I could see that he was enjoying the fact that I felt intimidated.
“Are you going to give me money or not?” Jeff half-yelled.
“How much are we talking about?” I inquired, caving in
“Nothing much, about 20 bucks,” Jeff replied with a smile.
“20 dollars?” I asked, feeling relieved
“Twen-TY thousand dumbass,” Jeff retorted
My smile turned into a frown. The previous week, I had just given Jeff a thousand dollars, and I suffered for it.
Sofia had earlier given me her share of the rent, which I gave to Jeff. I worked multiple jobs to get it back.
“I’m sorry…erm, I don’t have that much on me,” I explained
“You don’t have money?” Jeff asked, raising a brow
“Yes, I have to pay my rent and also settle some debts,” I explained
“So you do have the money, but you prefer to be selfish with it,” Jeff muttered
Knowing the kind of person Jeff was, I stayed quiet.
“Answer me!” Jeff yelled furiously
“Yes, no, it’s not what you think. I just got paid, and I was able to get some money from a friend—
“Hand it over!” Jeff replied
“Please, I need to pay the rent,” I blurted out in tears
“Have it your way then,” Jeff stated
That was the last thing I heard as I was already on the ground. I tried to wrap my head around what happened, but my head kept spinning.
Did Jeff slap me?
Could the night get any worse?
