Breaking All Ties

1558 Words
One word, one voice, one man and it was all it took for Melissa to burst into tears. She felt blood drain from her at the look on his face. She knew that he might end her now miserable life if she didn’t start speaking. “No…Noah.” “I said Explain.” She flinched at his tone. “Th…this is not true, I swear. It..it’s fake.” She couldn’t even look into his eyes as she lied. Her eyes were on everything except him and good Lord, her hands were shaky and her feet wobbly as if she would fall any minute from then. “Is that so?” Melissa nodded. “Is that you on the video or not and don’t you dare lie to me this time. This is your last chance to tell the truth.” “It’s Genevieve. b***h. She did this. We should throw her out before she causes more commotion.” She stepped to Noah and tried to hold him but he took a step back, having her at arm's length. “This is my birthday party. Security? Security?” She called and nodded as the security guards came running to them. “Take her away from my birthday party right now. Th…throw her outside and make sure she doesn’t come in again. Do it now.” A glare from Noah and they froze in their spots. They didn’t dare take another bold step.” “I said throw her out. Didn’t you hear me?” “Get out,” Noah commanded. “Noah.” “I said get out.” Immediately, they took off from the scene, returning to their assigned spots. “I have one more proof,” Genevieve announced, walking forward until she was standing right between Noah and Melissa. A white envelope in her hand. “What?” She slowly opened the small envelope and brought out the paper that was inside. Carefully unfolding it, she passed it to Noah. “Yeah. Her medical report. Showing fully well that there is nothing, never anything wrong with her legs. They are perfectly fine then and now. I feel bad that you got played for a whole year. By your finacée. It’s shameful.” “You’re ly…” Melissa could swear that her ears rang and her eyes bled red as Mrs. Hank’s hands fell on her cheek in a loud slap. “Mo..mother,” she cried. Her palm flew to her cheek. “Don’t you dare call me that, you deceitful child? How dare you deceive us all these times, huh? I treated you like my own daughter. I loved you even to go as far as defiling my son for you and force him to get engaged to you but this is how you pay me back?” “I’m sorry, mother.” “I asked you to stop calling me that.” “It’s all because of Genevieve. I wanted her out of the way. I love Noah, mother.” “You deceive someone that you claim you love? I’m sorry but that isn’t love. If you truly love someone, you are not going to deceive them.” In tears, Melissa rushed to Noah and fell at his feet. “Noah, please forgive me.” She pleaded and rubbed her palms together. “I was dumb back then. I shouldn’t have done any of that. Please don’t break up with me. I promise I’ll be good from now on. Noah, please say something.” Noah's hands clenched. He had the urge to wrap his hands around the neck of little life on his feet and squeeze until she was begging for breath. “From now on, the Hank family will have nothing to do with yours.” He announced. “I’m breaking every tie that we have with you including our engagement. I hope that is clear,” with that, Noah moved backward until he was making his way out of the hall. “Noah… Noah, please don’t go. Noahhhh. No.. I can’t let him leave.” Melissa stood up from the floor to run after Noah but before she could even take two steps, Mrs Hank held her back. “Please let me go after him. I can’t live without Noah.” “He made everything clear. The Hank family cannot keep being friends with liars.” She pushed her aside and followed the path that her son followed. As soon as the Hank family got out of sight, Melissa’s mother quickly rushed to her and held her shoulders. “Melli, I told you that wasn’t a good idea. Stop crying.” “Mother, Noah. He…he called off the engagement.” “I know dear. You’ll be fine. Come on, stop crying.” Melissa wiped her tears. Her eyes fell on Eve and without saying a single word, she lunged at her. Her hands pulled at Eve’s hair Eve tore her away from herself and threw her on the floor. “Goddamn it. What are you, a bird?” “I’m going to kill you.” “That’s if you ever have the face to show yourself in public again. I told you Melissa, no one steps on me and goes free. You did too much.” “I did too much? You ruined my birthday and everything I worked so hard for for years.” “Too bad.” Did the vixen forget that she ruined her marriage? She ruined her damn marriage a year ago and the memory was still fresh in her head. She better don’t think that they are done with this because she still has a lot to offer. She was going to make her feel every inch of pain that she felt in ten folds and this was just the beginning. “I’ll take my leave now. Good luck.” “Genevieve.” “Yeah?” “You started this battle and I tell you, you are going to end it. I’m going to make sure I get back to you for this. I’m never going to forgive you.” “That’s why I said good luck, honey. I’ll be waiting,” that being said, Eve made her way out of the hall with Ella trailing behind her leaving Melissa and her guest in the hall. Seeing that some of her guests were still around and perhaps waiting for more drama, she frowned in anger and yelled. “What are you all still looking at? The party is over, can’t you see? Get the hell out of my house, now. Get out. I don’t want to see anyone.” She started throwing things at everyone not caring if she was disrespectful to the prominent businessmen and women. She kept throwing plates and spoons and eventually knocked off the birthday meal and drinks. She knew that the internet would be filled with the news and videos of her birthday the next day. But she didn’t give a flying f**k. All she ever cared about was her Noah and he was gone. “Get out everyone. Get out.” “Melissa, stop,” her mother yelled. “Mother, leave me alone.” “Stop it, Melissa. You’re going to hurt yourself.” “I’m going to kill myself, mother. Noah left.” “No, you won’t. There are still other fantastic men out there. You’ll find someone better.” She rolled her teary eyes. “Mother, are you so dumb? I made it clear several times. The only man that I want in this world is Noah. Noah alone and I’m going to get him. I don’t care what anyone says. This ain’t over yet. Not until I get back my Noah. I’m going to kill anyone who dares to step into my business and stop Noah from being mine. “Melissa,” her mother cried. “You’re going to get yourself in big trouble, daughter. Stop all of these already. Your father and I are going to get a heart attack if you keep being like this.” “I’m going to exert my revenge on everyone who has ruined my day and I’m going to start this with Genevieve. She is the cause of everything.” Melissa moved to her mother and held both her hands in hers. “Mother, please promise to support me. You are the only one I have left in this world that is there for me. Please support your daughter’s happiness. My happiness is Noah.” “You know how Noah is Melissa. What if you do something that will make him punish you greatly?” “He won’t. I’ll have him wrapped around my little fingers before then,” she swore. “Help me, mother. Support me on this. Let’s take down the enemy together and ride to the top.” Melissa’s mother stared at her daughter and saw the desperation in her eyes. Her desperation for love and happiness and she felt her heart shatter. All she wanted for her in this world was for her to be happy and smile always. She didn’t want her daughter to look like this at all and that was why she nodded to her request. “Fine then. Let’s get rid of the enemies together and get you the man that you want, okay?”
