Kayla's Point of View I'm currently sitting in an office with Dravin and the prince waiting for the doctor to come back with the test results. In the human community, blood tests take days to get back, but the dragons have them immediately. "You OK?" Prince Levi said as he grabbed my hand. I looked at him and smiled. "Yes. The poke didn't hurt too much." "Thats good." He squeezed my hand trying to comfort me. There was a knock on the door and suddenly it opened. The doctor walked in with a chart in his hand. I watched him walk over to the round stool and sit down. "Well?" Prince Levi said. The doctor cleared his throat. "It appears that Kayla has dragon DNA, but from what I gather from Dravin, she isn't part of the experiment." "What do you mean?" Dravin asked. "The amount of dragon DNA she has is beyond that of someone who was given a dose in the womb." "How much?" Prince Levi asked as he squeezed my hand again. "It would appear she is one hundred percent dragon." "How is that possible? I don't have a dragon. My mother is human." "I am not sure." The doctor said as he handed the chart to Dravin. Dravin looked over the paper and then looked at Prince Levi and I. "If this test is correct you are one hundred percent dragon, but that can't be correct. Can you run her blood again? I'd like to be there the whole time. Blood draw to results to make sure nothing gets swapped." "Of course," the doctor said. He walked over to a drawer and pulled out a needle, barrel, tube, alcohol wipe, turniquit and a cotton ball. The doctor walked over to me and I held my hand out. He wrapped the tourniquet around my left arm and lightly tapped my arm. Once he decided my veins were good, he wiped the spot and inserted the needle. After collecting the sample, he removed the tourniquet and needle. "I'll be back soon." he said. Dravin and him left the room. "If this test comes back the same, then we should go and talk to my mother. She is the only one who might have the answers." "I agree." Prince Levi and I sat in silence. Even though he held my hand, I was nervous as hell. What if I was a dragon? Why didn't I have one? The silence was becoming overbearing and I stood up, causing Prince Levi to let go of my hand and began to pace back and forth. "Sweetheart, are you okay?" Prince Levi asked with a hint of worry in his voice. "No. What if the test is right? What if I am a dragon? Why was I raised by humans? Why do I not have a dragon? Where are my real parents?" I quickly asked, causing myself to run out of breath. Levi stood up and pulled me into him. He ran his hands down my back, causing shivers to run up my spin. "One thing at a time, love. Lets find out if the test was right. Once we get the results, we can then brainstorm and figure out what is going on." "Okay." I said. We stood in each other's embrace for a little while and then sat back down. It was about twenty minutes later when Dravin and the doctor walked back in. "What took so long?" Prince Levi asked as they both took a seat. "We ran a couple of tests," the doctor said. "You are indeed a dragon but your dragon side has been suppressed. Do you take any medication or have any jewelry you wear all the time?" he asked. "No." "Hmm. Well, something is causing your dragon to be suppressed. I am shocked the prince could even identify you as his mate. Your hormone levels are very low." "The good news is that she is a dragon, so the council can not punish you for taking her as a mate, but now we need to figure out what is causing her inner dragon to be suppressed." Dravin said as he held the test results in his hand. "Thank you doctor. We will be in touch once we figure out what is going on." The three of us stood and left the room. We walked back to Prince Levi's room and the two men sat down while I looked out the window. "Dravin, I know you are tired but I need you to confront Kayla's mother." "Of course, my prince." "We need to have this figured out sooner rather than later." The two men were talking and I just looked out the window. I was a dragon, but not a whole dragon. Was my mom really my mom?" "Love lunch is here," Prince Levi said as he touched my shoulder, causing me to look at him. I smiled and as he took my hand and led me to the table, I took a deep breath and let it out. "Do you have a piece of paper?" I asked. Prince Levi nodded and walked over to his desk. He grabbed the paper and a quil. "Here you go." I grabbed the paper and began to write. When I was finished, I handed it to the prince and said, "I would like some tea but this kind with these ingredients." "Of course." He handed the paper to one of the servants and they left the room as we sat down and began to eat. Dravin's Point of View Kayla was in shock. Hell, all three of us were. I thought she was part of the king's experiment but turns out she, is not. He'll she could be part of another experiment. What the hell were the elderly council and the king up to? As I soared in the sky, I could see the home Kayla grew up in and quickly flapped my wings. After landing, I approached the house and could hear singing coming from the garden. "Hello," I said as I walked up to the gate. The woman jumped and placed her hands on her chest. "Heavens you scared me. What can I do for you, council member?" She asked. "I am here on official business regarding your daughter." The women paled. "Is she okay?" I nodded. "That is good. What can I do for you?" "For starters, you can tell me how a pure blood dragon came to live with you and how you have suppressed her dragon this whole time?" I said. The women paled and looked away. "Perhaps we should take this conversation inside."
