Hybrids and Home

3: Hybrids and Home  I looked at my mate, who was calmly studying me. He looked like he hadn’t even heard me.  “Hey, S’Mores! Did the Moon Goddess forget to provide you ears?? Answer me!” I shouted.  “Huh?” he replied. “Who’s ‘S’Mores’?” I rolled my eyes. “You are. You smell like campfire and S’Mores to me. Did you hear any of my questions?” I scoffed at him.  “No? I was too busy looking at your eyes. They are incredibly beautiful and unique. Like warm honey in the summertime with flecks of gold,” he told me while giving me the most innocent smile in the world. “Now what did you ask me?”  I sighed and rolled my eyes. For the love of God. I’ve been held captive, underground, for 8 f*cking years, and he wants to stare at my eyes? “I said, what is your name, where in the actual f*ck are we, and what in the name of the moon goddess above are you??” I ended by shouting.  “My name is Atlas, we are above the Bear River rebel campground, and I am a vampire werewolf hybrid with the best of both worlds,” he replied with a grin.  “Ok Atlas, what the h*ll happened 8 years ago, why is there a rebel pack, and why am I so important that you’ve been looking for me?” I fired back with a growl. “You are Jessie, heiress to the Alpha werewolf pack. Your father, Alpha Zerok, was challenged by the current Alpha; Alpha Gavin. Alpha Gavin cheated, using a mixture of wolfsbane, liquidized silver, and acid to weaken your father during the challenge. Your father, and mother, and siblings were killed, and you were imprisoned. No one knows why you were imprisoned, it was never explained. There’s a rebel pack because Alpha Gavin abuses the entire werewolf kingdom, and constantly is making new laws to take away our freedoms. You, Alpha Jessie, are important because we need you to take him down, in a challenge. We will train you, and we will help give you immunity to the poison that took out your father. When we win, you and I, will rule the werewolf kingdom, and bring peace back to our lands. Does that clear things up?” he explained confidently.  “Ummm” was my last coherent thought before I passed out.
