Escape?

The cell door opened, and that alone floored me. 8 years. 2920 days, and I could count the number of times my cell door opened on one hand. As it opened, the most incredible smell wafted through. It smelled like campfires, night sky, and smores. It was so strong, my mind was flooded with it, and Joy was prancing and preening in my head.
“Mate! Mate! Mate is here! He’s going to save us!” she screamed.
“Chill out Joy. I don’t need a stupid man to save me. I’m an Alpha. I can save myself,” I chastised her.
“Shut up Jessie. We can’t get out of this stupid h**lhole by ourselfs. This prison runs for miles underground, and it’s a f**cking maze. We need his help,” she replied. I scoffed and snubbed her to the back of my mind. I then turned to face my mate.
“Hi Jessie. You smell amazing; like fresh baked vanilla cake. It’s time to get you out of here, and back to the rebel camp, which is operating out of the Bear River packhouse right now. You ready?” the unknown man asked.
I sighed and looked around the pitiful nasty smelling cell. I looked back to my mate, who in my mind I had nicknamed S’Mores, and said, “Of course I’m ready. I have lots of questions, but I want out of here more than I want answers. What’s the plan to get out of here?”
“Grab my hand. Simple as that. I would have been here sooner, but it took us rebels ages to find you.”
I grabbed his hand, and the most peculiar feeling shot up my arm. It was like touching a barely functioning electric fence. I closed my eyes to fight the discomfort, when suddenly my stomach twisted, and I fell to my knees. Only, when my knees hit the ground, it wasn’t the concrete of my cell that I felt. It was soft, and grassy. I could smell the fresh scent of pine, and hear rushing water. What the h**l? I opened my eyes to see a run down crumbling building in front of me. Now I was even more confused.
“What’s your name, where the capital f**k are we, and what in the ever loving sweet moon goddess are you??” I desperately interrogated S’Mores.
