Chapter 2 Two days later, the Crow people tribe received the messages sent from the Cherokee tribe. They were surprised Big Wolf was asking them to join them against the underground people. The leader, Eagle chief who was once Big Wolf's top warrior, was a very skilled fighter and had big muscles. The Eagle Chief rounded up the tribe and told them We need to unite as one with the Cherokee, we need to help with the battle against the underground people. I agree with Big Wolf that these underground people are a big problem, and if we don’t stop them, we will not exist in the future. If we don’t fight them now, it will be too late. We will gather all the weapons, food, and water, and we will set off in two days. I will send the pigeons, letting the Cherokee tribe know we will be there in four days and will depart after the battle is over. The Crow people were a powerful but smaller tribe than the Cherokee, yet solid fighters who didn’t fear death. The Cherokee tribe received the message from the Crow people, and Big Wolf was thrilled that they accepted him. He announced it to all the Cherokee tribe and said Tonight, we will celebrate and dance around the fire. Let’s unite as one and be rid of these beasts. The Cherokee tribe cheered with happiness and excitement. The Cherokee tribe danced around the fire and had fun. Big Wolf sat in his big wooden chair with feathers all over it when, suddenly, a female approached him. She was beautiful and had long black curly hair. She offered him a drink. He had never seen her before; she was one of the Cherokee tribe’s daughters. He accepted the drink, she looked him in the eyes, he looked back. He was lost in her eyes, he had never felt this way before. She smiles as she walks away. He quickly asks her name as she walks off, and she says My name is Sunset He watches her as she walks off. The next morning, Big Wolf wakes up, and it’s foggy; he needs to go on a hunt with the other Cherokee warriors. As he gets his equipment, Sunset approaches him and says Can I come with you He doesn’t know what to say. He would normally say no to a female Cherokee, but this time is different. She looks him in the eyes, he is lost, and he says Yes, you can, he thinks to himself, what is wrong with me? Big Wolf and 30 other Cherokee warriors go off to hunt. As they were riding in the distance, they saw a lifeless body on the floor. Big Wolf says to the tribe Move slow, stay alert. They get closer, and they notice it’s a cowboy; he is still breathing, but badly cut and messed up. Big Wolf tells the warriors to end him, and out of nowhere, Sunset screams, no please, we can save him. Big Wolf says sunset, these are our enemies, not our friends she replies, but we are asking for their help to join against the underground people. Big Wolf thinks to himself, she is right and tells the Cherokee warriors to put him on the back of a horse. They get back to camp, and Big Wolf gets his healers to look at the cowboy and treat his wounds. They lay him down and cleaned up his wounds. They treat wounds with juice from special herbs and plants. They then leave him to rest. Big Wolf tells the Cherokee warriors to guard his hut and not let anyone in, and to keep checking on him as soon as he wakes up; they are to come get him straight away. Big Wolf walks off to go sit in his chair as he sits down, sunset walks over to him, and she says Thank you, Big Wolf replies What for She says you didn’t kill that man. Big Wolf replies If you weren’t there I would have ended him and tells her she needs to understand when you have enemies you cannot let them go or live because that very person could kill one of us. Sunset looks upset. Big Wolf asks her why she’s crying, what’s up? Sunset replies Why can’t we all just get along and not kill each other? Big Wolf says It’s because we are all different and have different beliefs, and the white man doesn’t like us, it’s just the way it is and always will be. Big Wolf doesn’t enjoy seeing Sunset cry. He walks over to her and puts his arm around her. She looks him in the eyes, they move closer, then they both start kissing and rubbing against each other, they go into the hut, and they make love for a few hours. The next morning, they wake up and have breakfast. Big Wolf looks at the sunset and tells her she is beautiful. She replies Thank you, and you are the perfect man for me. He says Yes I would love for you to one day be my wife and she replies, "I would love that, I’ll be by your side forever." The Cherokee guard walks down to Big Wolf’s hut. He says Big Wolf, the white devil, is awake. He tried to escape, so we had to tie him up. Big Wolf walks down to the hut with a guard outside and walks inside. He tells the guard to go get the Parrot Chief so that he can translate what’s being said. The guard goes to get Parrot Chief. They return and walk into the hut. Big Wolf asks the Parrot Chief to translate what he says. Big Wolf says, ask him why he was here, what happened to him, and why he is on his own. The cowboy says he was there with a group of men and was looking for his wife and kids, they got taken by underground people, and as they were traveling, they were attacked by 3 underground people. Everyone was killed, except him; he got away but passed out. Big wolf said: How you survive? You’re fortunate u should be dead. Cowboy says he had dynamite. He was being squeezed by the enormous hands of one of the underground people. He lit the dynamite, and he threw it at the other underground people, as he knew if it was near him, he would die anyway soon, as the other underground person was injured from the blast of dynamite the underground person let go of him and ran over to injured underground person I then ran for my life I ran into a cave to hide. As soon as they were gone, I tried to travel, but I passed out, and then I woke up here. All I want is to find my wife and kids; they were alive when they were running off with them. Why do these beasts kill you sometimes, but not always, and then they kidnap you alive sometimes? Big Wolf said We don’t know, we want to find out that too, and we are finding a way of stopping the underground people. He told him the plan and what they could do to stop the underground people. The cowboy said he doesn’t think the cowboys will join them, but hopes they do. The cowboys say, when I’m healed, let me go, I’ll go back and tell them you saved me and ask them to join. I’ll tell them the plan, and I can make them listen to me. Big Wolf says What makes you think they will listen to you? Cowboy replies, We are fed up with these underground people, they are destroying our life, they steal our people, they take our livestock, and they break our fences down, and we are no longer safe. There seem to be more of them, and they are getting more clever. Big Wolf tells the cowboy he will let him go back, but that he has already sent messengers to them. He gives him a horse, supplies, and weapons and sends him on his way, telling him to have a safe journey and luck. Sunset tells Wolf she is worried about the Cherokee messengers that are on their way to Cowboys, and that thunder is her brother, Big Wolf, who did not know thunder was her brother, and tells her, “ I’m sure they will be fine, thunder is a warrior. Big Wolf tells Sunset he wants to marry her before the battle against the underground people. Sunset says she will, but wants her brother to be there for the wedding; she doesn’t want him to miss it. Big Wolf says we will wait for him, and as soon as he is back, we will get married, because the week after, we will go to war with the underground people. Sunset tells Big Wolf she is worried Big Wolf will not return from the battle, and Big Wolf said he will be back, and then they can plan to have kids and build a family together and be happy.
