It had been two weeks and I still wasn’t ready to remove the barriers I’d placed to protect Tesia’s nerves. I was confident that I had managed to prevent serious injury, but the area was still weakened. Farukan was fit as he could be, but he was torn between wanting to go south to his family and staying to help find Mira.
The Riders had closed ranks. They claimed to know nothing of what happened to Mira and that even if they did it would be an internal matter of the Riders. They also denied that the Rorujhen were anything but a big horse.
