Delilah woke slowly in what felt like a bed of pillows. She rolled over feeling the grass touch her face, but was surprised by how soft it was. She wasn't in pain, and now wondered if she would finally die.
"I know you aren't sleeping." She heard the soft voice tell her, and her eyes opened to see the woman from the painting staring at her. She looked at her curiously before sitting up and looking around. She was in some sort of clearing. There were trees further away, but she was almost in a meadow.
There were different flowers all around, and when she looked back at the woman, she was sitting on the ground beside her. She held her hand out to her, and she looked at it curiously. "Hello, my name is Selene."
She placed her hand in hers, surprised by the warmth she felt as she shook it. "My name is Delilah." She saw Selene nod. "I know your name, it's very pretty. I am so sorry for what you are going through. I give all my children choices, and it's up to them to choose the right path."
She watched her sigh deeply, shaking her head. "What is happening to you is wrong, and I am so sorry. You were meant to find your mate, and I honestly didn't see this happening."
Delilah reached up placing her hand on her neck as she let out a soft whimper. "Did I lose my mate because of this mark?" She watched Selene shake her head. "Once it's gone, you will be able to find your mate again. The bond did break, but not by choice. Your mate will have no other but you. However, he didn't understand what the bond was because he knew not much of your kind."
She couldn't help but sigh with relief, knowing that her mate was still hers. "Will you help me out of this?" She saw Selene shake her head. "I'm sorry, but I am not allowed to interfere, but I brought you here because I know I can't do a lot, but the least I can do is give you a gift."
She couldn't help but glare at the woman. "I don't want a gift! I want my freedom!" Selene reached out placing a hand on her cheek, and all her anger suddenly vanished. She was suddenly feeling calm and very relaxed. "I know I'm sorry, but when you need it. Your call will be heard. I will make sure of it."
She was starting to feel very tired, and Selene leaned closer to her. She was surprised when her mouth covered hers in a soft kiss. Selene pulled back, smiling at her gently. "I hope this helps, and use it to your advantage." She was feeling dazed, and suddenly tired from the kiss.
Delilah let Selene pull her close, and laid her head down in her lap. "You would make an amazing wolf, and I will make one just for you in case you decide to change."
She cuddled into Selene's lap, closing her eyes as she felt her running her fingers through her hair. "Better be a red one." She heard the soft musical laughter. "Of course, rest now. Things will be different when you wake up."
She tried to nod her head, but her body wasn't moving, and suddenly she heard a soft beeping noise. It was a very annoying sound, and she wished she could turn it off.
Her eyes snapped open, and she winced at the sudden light that seemed so much brighter. She tried to move a hand in front of her face, but she felt something metal on her wrists, and her hand wouldn't move far.
Delilah's eyes slowly adjusted to the light. It felt like she could see better, and even hear better. No wonder the beeping of the machine was bothering her. She honestly felt like she had a headache. She was in a white room with just this bed, and a chair beside the bed.
She looked at one hand to see it handcuffed to the bed, and so was the other. She tried pulling on the cuffs, but sighed as she heard a door open. "Oh good you are awake now."
She looked at a man dressed in what looked like a long white coat, and he tilted his head looking at her. "Oh right you don't understand me." He walked over to the bed looking down at her arm.
She could hear loud footsteps coming down the hall, and her eyes instantly went to the door. "Oh you can hear him coming." She watched the Alpha walk into the room, and over to the bed. "How is she?"
He was looking down at her with annoyance, but also concern. "You marked her saved her life just in time. She would have bled out Alpha. With your Alpha venom running through her veins, she is healing faster, and it appears she can hear better as well. She might even be able to run faster."
Delilah watched Alpha shake his head with a roll of his eyes. "Best break her legs then Doc." The Doc looked at him with a roll of his eyes. "They would just heal Alpha."
She laid back in the bed looking at the two of them, confused. She didn't understand how she could now understand them. "How is Alex doing, Doc? She beat him pretty well with a duster on his head."
She looked back and forth between the two of them. "He died Alpha. His wolf couldn't keep up with the healing, and suffered repeated blows to the head."
Alpha sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose. "Just great." She suddenly felt a bit of relief. At least he wouldn't be able to try to hurt her again. "Are you going to punish her, Alpha? If you do, you will feel it."
She watched him shrug. "No, I have a feeling Alex tried to take what didn't belong to him. She belongs to me, and he shouldn't touch what doesn't belong to him. When can she be released? How soon will she be able to perform her normal duties?"
She watched Doc tilt his head. "She can be released whenever you want Alpha. She is completely healed, but I suggest she rest for at least another day to make sure her arm is fully healed. If Beta had dragged her any further she might have lost her arm."
Alpha grabbed hold of her wrist, and uncuffed one arm, before walking around the bed undoing the other. She couldn't help but rub both of her wrists. "Up." She nodded her head, slipping off the bed to stand up.
She wobbled a bit grabbing the bed for support, before Lilly walked into the room with a dress, and flat shoes handing them to Alpha. "The clothing you requested Alpha."
He took them before tossing them on the bed beside her. "Put those on." She tilted her head at him, and he sighed deeply. "She needs to learn to speak our language. If she wasn't so damn beautiful." He grabbed hold of the gown she was wearing, and she quickly removed it herself, and grabbed the dress, putting it on.
She grabbed the flat shoes, looking at them before handing them to Alpha. She heard a soft voice coming from the hallway. "Most faeries go barefoot, Alpha."
She looked past him to see a girl standing in the doorway. She had long black hair, and bright purple eyes, wearing a short black dress, and she was barefoot. She watched the girl smile at her, before brushing her hair behind her pointed ears.
