Delilah stood in the spare room with the boxes of Kad's old clothes. She was going through the boxes found a pair of leggings that were lined with fake fur. She was surprised that quite a few of the leggings were like that. She wondered if Kad liked the feel of fur on her skin.
She recalled her mentioning she was a werecat, and pulled out a black pair, pulling them on. She threw on a tank top, and went through the boxes until she found an oversized black sweater holding it up to herself in the mirror.
She felt the stubs of her wings move on her back, and she winced slightly, turning around to try to look at them. She put the sweater down, and lifted her hair to get a better look at her back.
Delilah couldn't help but have tears in her eyes as what once would have been her wings fluttering, was just the stubs moving against the fabric of the tank top. She went through the boxes to find a lower cut back, and pulled off the tank top, and replaced it with the new one.
She picked up the sweater, feeling the soft material, and hoped it wouldn't irritate them, hearing a knock on the door. "Come in!" She watched Raz walk into the room with a soft smile. "Almost ready?"
He raised an eyebrow at her as he walked over to her, and gently pushed her hair away from her back. "Delilah, did he just cut them off?" She nodded, and winced as he touched one. "Let me get you something." She watched him leave the room, and waited for him to come back with some jar.
He opened it up, and felt him put whatever it was on her wings, and felt the irritation and pain go away. She felt him start blowing gently on her back, and closed her eyes. "There you go all dry."
Delilah turned around, looked up at him with a smile. "Thank you." She pulled on the sweater, and quickly slipped on the boots Raz had given her.
She stepped out of the room, and he was already holding a coat out for her to put on. "Such a gentleman, thank you." She slipped her arms inside, and turned around. She started fumbling with the zipper, and he gently took her hands and guided her into doing it.
She looked up at him, still smiling at him, and he held his hand out to her. "So is this a date?" She took it gently, and he shrugged as he walked her down the stairs.
Delilah was surprised to see people in the bar sitting and having drinks, and she noticed attractive girls walking around with trays. She noticed Psych at the bar cleaning a glass, and he looked up. "Headed out for the night boss?"
Raz nodded at him. "Yes, we might be back late. Oh Psych, have Brooke reassigned to another job, and tell Lydia I'd like to speak with her about Brooke."
She giggled as Psych saluted to him, and they made their way outside, and he called out to them. "Got it boss, enjoy the night!" She looked at Raz. "How does Lydia know her?"
He opened the truck door, and was helping her inside. "Brooke is Lydia's sister." She watched him shut the door, before walking to to his side, and climbing into the truck on drivers side. He started tapping the steering wheel in though, before turning to look at her.
"Brooke is bipolar, and in ways mentally ill, but she is on medication for it. Sometimes she forgets to take it, or she will have episodes. She had a very difficult upbringing, and it has affected her greatly. I took pity on her, and she seems to think we are involved romantically."
He started the truck, and started to drive. "I have told her many times I am not interested in her, that I have a mate. The only reason I tolerate her is for Lydia's sake, and I get it she went through a alot. Most of the Kitsunes here have been through terrible things, and I understand."
He let out a soft sigh, as she reached over and placed a hand on his arm. "I just don't want you to think we are involved or that I want her. I want you, and I am willing to wait."
She shrugged. "It's fine, I get it, you are very handsome. I bet she is not the only one who has eyes for you. Though I should mention I can be quite possessive. So if I do decide I want you, I am not willing to share. I like to be in control, and I don't follow orders very well."
Raz looked away from the road briefly to smirk at her, before his eyes returned. "You will never have to share me if I am yours, I will only be yours, Delilah. My eyes will never wander. I will want no one but you. Though it amuses me you are the jealous type because I am not. Which I know is uncommon for Alpha. I don't want to restrict you anyway, or feel you have to be someone you are not."
She smiled suddenly. "So what if someone was flirting with me, you wouldn't get mad?" He shook his head. "No, I'd say they have good taste, but I would only react if it made you uncomfortable."
Delilah couldn't help but feel relieved. "I'm glad, because I am naturally a positive person, and I love to compliment people. Doing little things like telling them they look amazing. I should mention I normally wear more revealing outfits, being a faerie, we didn't cover up much. In winter, I cover up, but during the summer I like to wear skirts and dresses. It's always summer in the Faerie Realm unless you are visiting winter."
He took hold of her hand, bringing her knuckles to his lips and placing a soft kiss on them. "Wear whatever you would like Delilah. I will never tell you that you can't. It's just clothing, and it can get quite hot here during the summers. Besides us wolves run hot, and you will notice nudity is common since we ruin clothes if we shift in them."
She was surprised to see the packhouse coming into view, but he turned onto another road, and was driving toward the waterfront. She noticed a parking space with several other trucks already in spots, but everyone was backed in.
Raz backed in the truck, before hopping out, walking over to her side, and helping her down. He took hold of her hand, and led her down a path toward the packhouse. She noticed that the snow was plowed off the path, and between where the beach was and the packhouse there was a huge bonfire lit.
She could see people sitting around it chatting and laughing, having a good time. Some were even cooking things on sticks in the fire. He led her to one of the logs that were surrounding the fire, and several people greeted them. Everyone seemed so friendly, and introduced themselves.
She saw several people she had already met, but a lot she hadn't. She even saw small children running around with tiny sticks on fire, and sparks were flying off them, and already knew she had many questions.
