Chapter 3

~* Months later *~ Delilah woke to the door being opened, and groaned, covering her face as the light hit her. She felt Alpha grab hold of her arm, and drag her out. It felt like it had been just hours since he last had her. She was getting sick of this closet, and whatever little food he brought her. It was always the same food some weird soft bread with some sort of nut filling in between. She hadn't had fruit in months, and was starting to forget the sweet taste. She knew she was thinner because he was essentially starving her. She tried to stay lying on the ground when he threw something at her. "Get up Fae." She knew what that meant now, and was starting to know certain words in their language. Just the basics like no, yes, up, down. She sat up looking at what was thrown at her, and saw it was a dress. Her first artical of clothing since she got here, and she eagerly put it on to cover herself. So many nights she spent in that closet cold, and naked. She wondered if she would get to keep the dress. It was big enough to keep her warm. She felt Alpha kick her leg, and looked up at him in confusion. "Up!" She scrambled, slowly getting on her feet. He grabbed a hold of her arm, and dragged her out of the room. She couldn't help but look at her surroundings to see she was in a mostly empty hall. There were some paintings around, but there weren't a lot, just a few here or there. Mostly of wolves howling at moons, and such. He dragged her down a set of stairs, which she had a little trouble with almost missing a few steps but quickly recovered. He walked her down another hall into a room filled with tables and different people. She was sat next to Beta, who seemed surprised to see her, and she looked at others. They started talking to each other, and she frowned, never feeling more alone. She was surprised when Alpha set a plate in front of her with some weird-looking food. She looked at him curiously as he said "Eat." She lifted the fork, poking some white and yellow-looking stuff scrambled together, and she lifted a brown crispy piece of something that smelled like meat. Delilah winced as Alpha hit her upside the head, saying "Eat!" She took a small bit of the crispy piece, instantly spitting it out, and then the white and yellow stuff. She didn't like anything on this plate, and quietly shoved it away. She watched as Alpha spoke with Beta and a few other people at the table. She watched him point to one guy saying "Gamma." Then the other "Delta." She repeated slowly for the Alpha fear that he would hit her again. "Eat!" She watched Gamma argue with the Alpha before he got up, and walked toward where the food was. She watched him grab a few things on a plate before walking over, and setting it in front of her. She picked up a orange ball going to take a bite, before he suddenly grabbed it from her, and watched as he peeled pieces off it, before handing it to her. She took a piece of the peel taking a bite, and winced at the sour taste. She finished peeling it before breaking off a piece, and eating it. She almost moaned as the sweet taste filled her mouth, and closed her eyes. It was some sort of fruit, and she eagerly took another piece, until it was all gone. Delilah turned to the Gamma, bowing her head to him. "Thank you." He looked at her confused before saying words that she assumed were what she had said. She slowly repeated the words to him, and he nodded. He lifted a yellow fruit, peeling it slightly before giving it to her. "Banana." She took it repeating the words, before taking a bit. She watched the Alpha look at her with amazement, before the Gamma spoke to him. She watched him wave a hand at him, before turning back to his meal. She quietly ate the banana, before picking up another fruit that was red. She looked at Gamma, and he smirked at her. "Apple." She repeated the words a few times to memorize them. If she wanted to continue eating fruit, she would have to learn the names to ask for it. She pointed to the orange peel, and he grinned at her. "Orange." She repeated the words, and finished eating in silence as they all spoke to each other. She couldn't help but quietly observe the room. It had many large windows, and she wondered if she could try to escape from them. Delilah winced when Alpha grabbed hold of her arm. "Up." She quickly got to her feet as he dragged her into another room. She looked at several girls in the room who were cooking. They were doing a variety of different tasks, and one was washing plates. One of the girls walked over to her, and pointed to herself. "Lilly." She pointed to her. "Fae." She pointed back to herself. "Lilly." She repeated the name, and Lily smiled at her before saying something to her that she didn't understand. The Alpha released her, and walked out of the room as Lilly gently walked her over to a counter showing her something called peeling potatoes. She watched her do it. Before doing it herself, Lilly patted her shoulder gently, before going back to whatever she was doing. She couldn't help but look around what she assumed was the kitchen. She saw what looked like a door, and debated trying to escape, but right now so many of the girls were looking at her with curiosity. She had to try to escape, didn't she? She didn't really want to go back to being in just that closet. When she was done with all the potatoes, she looked at Lilly, and she handed her another orange. She eagerly peeled it, and ate it in a hurry. She watched several girls pointing to her, and talking to Lilly. Lilly walked over to her, and gently pushed her hair behind her pointed ears with surprise, before looking back at the girls. She felt Lilly pull her into a hug, and she struggled a bit against the strange hold, before relaxing. It almost felt like her mother was holding her, and she watched one of the girls leave before coming back with a set of papers? She was sitting at a table with one of the girls who made her repeat her name, "Crystal." She realized as she was holding up papers there were pictures of the items and the names. After going through a few cards and repeating the words, she realized they were trying to teach her basic language. Delilah turned her head when Beta came into the room, and grabbed hold of her arm. She looked at Crystal, pointing to the papers. "Cards." She pointed to herself, and the cards that they had already gone through to memorize. She watched Crystal and the Beta talk before he picked up the cards and handed them to her. She bowed her head to him, before she was led back to Alpha's room, and the closet. She frowned when he put her back in, and she held up the cards, and watched as he pressed something, and there was light in the closet. She sat down on the ground, and went through the cards, studying them. She was going to try to learn as much as possible.
