Chapter 34

Delilah woke a few hours later in bed alone. She looked around the room curiously as she nuzzled into Raz's pillow, inhaling his scent deeply. She slowly crawled out of bed, walking into the bathroom, before looking back out into the room. "Raz?" She walked back into the room, opening up Raz's dresser, and pulling out one of his red shirts, and putting it on. She was surprised that the shirt was long enough to almost be knee-length, and was very soft. She walked out of the bedroom into the living room and kitchen area. "Raz?" She tilted her head, not hearing any noise as she looked around the room. She saw a plate on the table with a bunch of fruit, and a wrap. Nothing seemed to be disturbed, but he was not in the apartment. She felt a slight panic hit her at being alone. Delilah quickly made her way to the door, opening it, and stepping out into the hall, running into someone feeling herself pushed onto the ground. "Watch where you are going." She looked up at Brooke with a raised eyebrow. "Sorry, I was just looking for Raz." She got up off the ground, dusting herself off. "Should have still been paying attention." She nodded, as she stepped around her. "Next time." She blinked when her neck was suddenly grabbed, and she was thrown up against the wall being choked. "We should have a talk." She instantly panicked, and quickly kneed her in the stomach, catching her by surprise as she dropped her. Delilah shoved her with full strength, surprising herself when she went flying into the wall. "Delilah, are you all right?" She saw Raz standing in the hallway, and she sighed with relief. She quickly walked down the hall, circling her arms around his waist, snuggling into his chest. "I couldn't find you when I woke up." She felt his arms circle her as Brooke's shrieking voice made her wince. "She just hit me!" She looked up at Raz, as he slid one hand from her back, and gently placed it on her cheek. "I am fine." He chuckled gently. "You did well put all your strength in that knee. I am very proud." Her face instantly brightened up at him. "You aren't mad?" He shook his head. "No, I am proud of you for defending yourself. I would happily train you if you like, so you can do more damage next time." Delilah couldn't help but hug him tightly, as he placed his other arm around her. She looked back at Brooke, seeing her face filled with anger. "You touched her first. She had every right to defend herself. She has been through enough." She watched her mouth open as Raz raised his voice, making her shiver slightly. "Silence! I warned you once, Brooke, you are to do nightly patrols for a month with no breaks. Now get out." She watched her storm past them, and looked up at him. "I woke up from bed, and you weren't in it. You are dressed." She could help but pull one arm from around him to grab hold of the silky tie. "Oh, I had video calls with clients, and I don't think they would have approved of me half naked." Delilah couldn't help but giggle, gently pulling the tie. "I would have approved." He let out a soft chuckle. "I bet, but the King wouldn't have. I asked if it would be all right to bring you to the castle to see your mother." Her eyes widened instantly with excitement. "I'd love to see my mother." She felt his hand rub her back gently. "I thought so, he said it would be no problem. In fact, he is sending his Beta Jayce here to accompany us since he is worried about your safety." She smiled up at him, and he placed a soft kiss on her lips. She couldn't help but melt against him. She didn't understand why she always felt like home when she was with him. She knew it was selfish to want to be with him all the time, but he didn't seem to mind. "Why don't you eat, and after I'll take you to the shop to get some outfits. You can pick out whatever you like." She couldn't help but smirk up at him. "Are you upset I keep wearing your shirts?" He shook his head with a chuckle. "Of course not. They look much better on you than me, but I want you to have clothing you want to wear, and your style." Delilah tilted her head slightly with a shrug. "I miss having faerie clothing. Though I am used to wearing next to nothing." She smiled when he placed a hand on her cheek. "I want you to wear what you want. You've had enough of being told what to do, and what to wear. I want you to be yourself with me, Delilah truly." She frowned. "Actually, for the longest time, I was left naked in a closet. It was so cold, so I now like to dress for warmth. I miss my magic. It used to keep me warm no matter what. I never felt cold until Alpha took my wings." She felt his hand on her back where the stubs of her wings were. "Can you get them back?" She sighed deeply. "It would depend, I suppose, on what he did with them. I could reattach them if I had the rest of them, but if he destroyed them. I won't ever have wings again." He tilted her chin up as tears rolled down her cheeks. "I am so sorry, Delilah." She wiped a tear away from her face. "It's not your fault. The elders would have protected me if it wasn't meant to happen." Raz pulled her close to him as he walked them back to the apartment. She wiped the rest of the tears off her face, as she sat down at the table. She grabbed an apple, taking a bit of it as Raz sat down, and she looked at him curiously. "If I decide to stay would you train me to fight?" His eyes widened slightly, and he nodded. "Of course, I would want you to be able to defend yourself against others, but it might be difficult for you to beat a wolf or lycan." She took another bite of her apple. "I'd still want to try it. I want to be able to defend myself against all the odds. I don't want to be helpless. My sister was a better warrior than me. She took to it easily, and was a natural fighter." She looked at her apple, playing with it in her hand. "My father was a wolf. Could that be why she was a better warrior?" She looked up at Raz as he shrugged. "It could be, but you have it in your blood too. Also, Alpha Cory was a Lycan like me. He would be bigger, and stronger than a wolf." Delilah looked at Raz. "So was Alpha a Lycan?" She watched Raz shake his head. "Judging by his Beta, and the others, I'd say he is a werewolf shifter. Was his wolf as big as Beta's?" She tilted her head thinking, and nodded. "I never saw him up lose, but I did watch out the window. He was only slightly bigger than Beta." She finished off her apple. "Are you going to kill him? If you find him, that is." She saw Raz smile at her. "Only if you want me to kill him, it's up to you. I could always just keep him in a cage and torture him." She shook her head. "I'd just rather see him dead, and know he could never hurt me again."
