Chapter 1

Delilah was an Elder Fire Faerie from the Realm of the faerie. She followed her Queen out of the portal one day, and while standing with what looked like either her father, or grandfather. She felt a pull, and watched as part of her soul left her body, disappearing off into the day. She wanted to follow that light, but knew her Queen needed her, and chose to stay. She escorted her back to the Faerie Realm, where she asked her Queen Ruby if she could leave to find her soul mate. Queen Ruby wanted her to be happy, and agreed to let her go. So she packed her bag, kissed her mother and sister goodbye before going on her journey. Delilah was tall with fire red hair, which had bits of orange streaks almost looking like the flames of fire. She had dark red eyes, and even her lips were naturally red. She wasn't thin, but had curves to her. "Delilah?" She looked at her mother with a curious look. "Please be careful!" She nodded. "I will do my best, mother." She hugged her one more time, before making her way through the forest. "Delilah!!" She let out a soft sigh, and turned toward the man who had been her lover for years. "Where are you going, Delilah?" She looked at the portal, before looking back at him. "My soul mate is in the other realm. I am going to go find them." He stepped up to her placing a hand on her cheek. "Please don't leave me. I love you Delilah I want you to be my chosen soul mate. We can be happy together. You don't know him yet, and it's dangerous out there." She shook her head softly. "I have to try to find them. I am sorry Dairan, but I want what my mother has with my father. I liked you Dairan, but I don't love you. I can't when half my soul is already gone. I have to find who has it. Please understand, you will find your own soul mate." He leaned over to kiss her, but quickly stepped back, shaking her head. "No I will not cause my soulmate pain." She started to walk towards the portal when he grabbed her arm. "Delilah." She pulled her hand back shaking her head. "I'm sorry Dairan, but it would never work out." Delilah stepped through the portal, and watched as a light was floating just outside the portal. She reached her hand out to touch it, and absorbed it into her hand. She closed her eyes at the feeling of the slight bond, and breathed out. "So you exist." She looked back at the portal one more time, adjusting her bag. She could see Dairan on the other side, and shook her head. She never really loved him. He was just someone to pass the time, until she found her soul mate. She pulled on that bond, and could feel it was very far away, but she wasn't discouraged. She was going to find her soul mate, and didn't care how long it took. Delilah started making her way away from the portal, and passed the image of the boulders. She looked around the green forest, and started making her way through the trees. After many hours of walking, she found a stream to stop, and have a drink. She noticed the sky getting darker, and wondered if she should keep walking or camp for the night. Her wings could technically light her way, but she was tired and hungry. She walked around the area listening closely for any sounds when an animal suddenly appeared from a tree. It had small ears, and a long bushy tail. It was actually really cute, and it appeared to be watching her as she looked around. She found sticks and twigs starting to make place for a fire. She made sure to grab plenty of wood for the fire for the night, and pulled out her blanket, setting it down. She placed her hand on the sticks, lightening them on fire. She sat down on her blanket going through her bag until she found her bag of different kinds of nuts. She watched the small creature climb the tree and onto a branch until it was just above her. She ate a few nuts before taking a couple, and tossing them towards the base of the tree. Delilah watched the creature stare at her, before going back and down the tree, taking one of the nuts, and eating it. "Bet you've never tried one of those before." She leaned back on her blanket, listening to the different sounds in the forest. She put her nuts back in her bag, grabbing one of the slices of faerie bread, tearing off pieces to eat it. It was somewhat hard, but it crumbled in your mouth. She saw the creature edging closer, and she broke off a piece of the bread, tossing it at it. She watched it run up the tree, but came down a few minutes later to grab it. She pulled out her water pouch, taking a sip, before lying down by the fire. She was looking up at the ball of light in the sky, and admired how beautiful it looked. She heard the soft sounds of something hooting. She slowly fell asleep to the sound of various chirping, almost making a soothing melody. She dreamed of finally meeting her mate, and hoped whoever they were. That they would accept her even though she was a faerie. Delilah was rough woken from her sleep at someone grabbing her wings, and felt someone else holding her down. She was hearing shouting, but not understanding what was being spoken. She struggled underneath the weight, making her hands glow red, reaching her wrists to burn the one holding them. She felt the pain in her back when she looked back to see her wings cut right off her back. She slapped the man hard, scratching at his face, as another grabbed her arms. She managed to jump on the one holding her food, and kneed the other in the chest, before running off. She didn't make it far before she was tackled to the ground, and dragged back to the fire by a Lycan-like creature. They were smaller than the lycan's she faced before in the war. She struggled against their holds as one started running his hands along her face, and down to her chest. He grabbed her bust roughly, and she instantly kicked her foot out, striking him in the stomach, before one of them struck her on the back of the head, and she fell against them. She watched her world start to spin, and she felt like she was being dragged until everything went back.
