Emily's POV
The room was suffocating. Luna Celeste's piercing gaze felt like a blade slicing into my chest as she stood just inside the doorway. Her icy demeanor could chill even the warmest hearth. Caleb and Joey flanked me protectively, their jaws clenched and shoulders squared, but nothing could shield me from the venom in her words.
"I can't believe this," Luna Celeste began, her voice trembling with barely restrained rage. "When Gina sent me that picture, and I thought my eyes were deceiving me. My sons, frolicking in the woods, having a picnic with... with her?" Her eyes raked over me, dripping disdain.
My chest tightened as if all the air had been sucked out of the room. The words hit harder than any slap could, but it didn't stop there.
"You must stop this madness immediately,"
