Here is Chapter 3 again in full:
THE SILENT OMEGA
Chapter 3 — The Moon Healer
The combat hall fell into deadly silence.
Lyra’s pulse pounded painfully against her ribs.
Moon Healer.
The words echoed through her mind like something ancient waking from sleep.
Kael stood motionless in front of her, broad shoulders tense, silver eyes fixed on the rogues at the broken doorway.
But Lyra noticed something else.
His scent had changed.
Not fear.
Protectiveness.
Pure Alpha instinct.
The tallest rogue tilted his head slightly while staring at her.
“She doesn’t even know,” he said with amusement.
Another rogue laughed darkly. “Makes this easier.”
Kael’s aura exploded through the room.
The air itself seemed to vibrate beneath his power.
“You will leave,” he said quietly, “or I will remove you piece by piece.”
Even the rogues hesitated slightly.
That was the reputation of Kael Draven.
The strongest Alpha in Blackthorn Academy.
But then the tallest rogue smiled.
“We know who she is now.”
“There’s no point hiding her anymore.”
Kael’s eyes sharpened dangerously.
“You’re mistaken.”
“No,” the rogue replied softly. “You are.”
His red eyes shifted toward Lyra again.
“The blood inside you is waking up, little healer.”
Pain suddenly stabbed through Lyra’s chest.
A violent burning sensation spread beneath her skin.
She staggered backward.
Kael noticed instantly.
“Lyra.”
Her breathing became uneven.
Something was wrong.
Very wrong.
The room blurred slightly around her as strange whispers filled her ears.
Run.
Hide.
Protect.
Images flashed through her mind rapidly—
A silver wolf standing beneath a red moon.
Blood covering snow.
A woman crying.
Chains.
Fire.
Then—
a scream.
Her own.
Lyra collapsed to one knee, clutching her chest.
The rogues smiled.
“There it is.”
Kael moved immediately.
He knelt beside her, one hand gripping her shoulder carefully.
The moment he touched her—
a strange surge of energy shot through both of them.
Kael froze.
Lyra gasped sharply.
Their eyes locked.
And suddenly—
she saw flashes that did not belong to her.
A younger Kael covered in blood.
Standing alone on a battlefield.
A grave beneath falling snow.
Loneliness.
Rage.
Kael pulled his hand away instantly, breathing harder than before.
Shock flickered across his face.
The rogues noticed.
“Oh?” one murmured. “Interesting.”
The tallest rogue grinned slowly.
“The bond already reacts.”
Kael stood immediately, placing himself between Lyra and the rogues again.
“Enough.”
Power rolled off him violently now.
The floor beneath their feet cracked slightly.
The rogue wolves shifted fully.
Bones snapped.
Claws extended.
Red eyes glowed brighter.
Students screamed somewhere deeper in the academy.
The attack had spread.
Kael spoke without looking at Lyra.
“When I move,” he said quietly, “run.”
Lyra shook her head immediately.
She couldn’t leave him alone against three rogues.
Even injured, she understood how dangerous they were.
Kael glanced back at her briefly.
“That's an order.”
The tallest rogue lunged suddenly.
Everything happened instantly.
Kael shifted partially mid-motion, claws colliding violently with the rogue’s attack.
The impact shook the hall.
Another rogue rushed from the side.
Kael blocked him with brutal force before slamming him through a stone pillar.
Dust exploded everywhere.
Lyra stared in shock.
He moved like a monster.
Fast.
Precise.
Terrifying.
This was the true strength of an Alpha.
But then the third rogue came for her.
Lyra barely dodged the claws slicing toward her throat.
She rolled across the floor and grabbed a fallen practice staff nearby.
The rogue laughed.
“The healer wants to fight?”
Lyra attacked anyway.
Fast strikes.
Sharp movements.
The rogue blocked easily but his expression shifted slightly.
“She’s trained well.”
Lyra aimed low, sweeping his legs.
He stumbled.
She struck again immediately—
but pain exploded through her injured shoulder.
Too slow.
The rogue grabbed her throat violently and slammed her against the wall.
The impact knocked the air from her lungs.
“Found you,” he hissed.
Kael turned instantly.
“Don’t touch her.”
Something dangerous entered his voice.
Something primal.
The rogue tightened his grip around Lyra’s throat.
“You know what she is now, Alpha.”
“If the Crimson Fang takes her, the balance changes forever.”
Kael’s silver eyes darkened.
“She belongs to Blackthorn.”
The rogue laughed.
“No,” he whispered.
His claws pressed lightly against Lyra’s skin.
“She belongs to the Moon.”
Then he slashed downward.
Kael moved instantly—
but too late.
The rogue’s claws tore across Lyra’s arm.
Pain ripped through her body.
Blood splattered onto the floor.
And then—
everything stopped.
A strange silver glow spread beneath Lyra’s skin.
The rogue froze.
Kael stared.
Light pulsed from the wound slowly.
Beautiful.
Ancient.
Terrifying.
The torn flesh began healing before their eyes.
The rogue stumbled backward in horror.
“No…” he whispered.
Lyra stared at her own arm, trembling.
The injury was disappearing.
Impossible.
Silver energy curled around her fingers like living moonlight.
The entire hall grew unnaturally cold.
Kael looked genuinely stunned now.
The tallest rogue whispered something in another language before falling to one knee.
Not from injury.
From fear.
“The Moon Healer…” he breathed.
The silver light suddenly burst outward violently.
A shockwave slammed through the combat hall.
Windows shattered.
The rogues were thrown backward.
Kael shielded his eyes as power flooded the room.
Lyra screamed silently as the energy consumed her completely.
And deep inside herself—
something ancient finally opened its eyes.
