I was starting to detest everything about this front with Kara. The more time I spent around Lucy, the more attached I got to her, as did Leo. Leo had already hated having Kara around from the moment we met our mate, and now that I was starting to have those same kinds of feelings, it was like I was feeling them tenfold. My emotions paired with Leo’s were making me resent Kara. I’m not sure yet if she noticed the way I bristled at her touch, the way I avoided her when I could, if she did she hadn’t said anything about it. Tonight though, there would be no avoiding her. It was customary for the King and Queen to open large celebrations like the one my mother was throwing tonight.
