Lucy POV
I whip around only to see Leo bounding towards me. He comes and sits next to me, and he has a weird look in his eyes. It takes me a second to realize that he came up here only a few seconds after Chad left. I reach over and stroke his fur. “Did you see Chad on your way up here? Or were you already up here when he was?”
He huffs, actually huffs at me. “I’ll take that to mean you were up here at the same time he was. I’m sorry you had to hear that. I’m surprised you didn’t charge in here and attack him or something. Did you follow me up here too? Does your dad want to see us?” He shakes his head no. I’m not sure if I like not being able to talk to him, but even though Maddox is still in there with him, talking to Leo feels different. I’m not as confused about my feelings for him.
