S.hit, I watch as my father absorbs what Lucy just said; and what this means for our pack, our kingdom, our entire species. This Proteus guy is back, he was here in our pack, and we weren’t any the wiser about it. I stare at Lucy who looks like she’s talking with her wolf, when my father loses control.
“This is unacceptable,” he roars scaring the crap out of the security guy going over the footage with us. “How the hell does a prisoner under quarantine escape the wing he’s in, the entire hospital for that matter, undetected?” He picks up the computer and throws it across the room, he’s rounding on the security guard and I’m about to say something with Lucy speaks up.
“They couldn’t have known,” she says quietly, but there’s no terror in her voice as she faces off with the Alp
