On my 20th birthday, I was surprised when my dad made and prepared by himself a great grand party for me, thing that he ignored for the past nineteen years.
Mom would prepare the party herself for me. I was used to her yearly surprises on my birthdays but that time everyone was surprised by the surprise grand birthday party dad had prepared for me.
As I was entering the hall, I overheard two women talking about dad that" I think the king has something in mind to ask his daughter maybe that's why he has given her this surprise birthday party".
Another one added"I think he found a marriage proposal for her but he is afraid to tell her about it".
I ignored then since I didn't want anything to spoil my mood on my birthday party. The party was a success, I received a lot of gifts than I used to get on my birthdays because my dad had invited all his friends and everyone almost brought me a gift.
That same day,dad gave me many gifts including golden rings. They were two.
As we were opening the gifts,Jen saw the rings and asked me to put both of them on but as I was about to put them on, Linie stopped me.
But why did she stop me? Maybe there was something not right about them.
She called Bell and told her a secret,maybe they were cracking a joke!.
They all laughed afterwards and we just starred at them; I and Jen.
They came closer and told us to sit down first.
We did so and they asked me "who has given you these rings?" I told them that "my father has",they both spoke out surprised that"I told you".
Jen and I asked what they meant by "I told you".
They said that maybe dad has seen a match for me so he has given me rings for our engagement ceremony which might happen soon from now.
My mind went back to what the women were saying earlier, I thought; maybe they were right but no,dad would have told me about it since he never cared about how I would feel, I counseled myself.
My dad was not a shy type. He couldn't shy away from telling me about it after all he was older than me and my father as well.
I heard my friends calling out my name because they had noticed that I was lost in thoughts.
"What are you thinking about, your highness?" They asked.
I said nothing.
We are so sorry. We didn't mean to worry you up.
We are just guessing, it's not serious they added.
I nodded and went towards the mirror. I was sweating a lot.
I looked confused and couldn't understand anything because I was not used to thinking too much.
It was already time to sleep but I didn't have any piece of sleep so they tried to put me to sleep but unfortunately I had lost my sleep.
I just pretended to be asleep so that they could leave me alone because I wanted some space for fresh air.
They left the room and went to their rooms to rest.
Of course they wanted to sleep since they were not in my position.
At first I felt bad that they were going to sleep yet as for me I had no sleep.
I spent the whole night awake,I never slept even for a second.
I tried to force myself to sleep but my whole body didn't obey.
