QUINN My gaze shifted instinctively to the edge of the room. I thought my eyes were playing tricks the first time I saw the flash of light just above the doorway. And for a moment, my new peaceful home was no longer safe. “Why are you standing like that and just watching?” Morrison asked. I raised a finger to my lips, “Don’t”, my voice barely above a whisper. “We are not alone.” He shifted closer, “What is that? You saw anybody?” “Almost,” I said, “the light flashed and faintly reflected two figures hiding over there.” I pointed at the doorway, “I saw them.” Morrison darted his eyes around the room, his nose shifted as if he was trying to sniff out the suspects.
