“What do you know about the infinity symbol?” I asked.
He didn’t respond immediately. That hesitation meant something.
“You are getting closer, bit by bit. That is the symbol of the great consortium,” he said.
I stopped breathing for a second.
“You have been seeing it around recently, right?”
I nodded.
“You are supposed to lead next.”
A cold chill went down my spine. This was yet the greatest revelation of my life. Unless there were other shocks awaiting me. Which I was sure. For a moment, my mouth was dry.
“Xavier showed you all that without explaining,” Morrison continued, “because someone changed the plans.”
I looked up. “What does that mean?” I managed to ask.
“He does not act without instructions. He knows more than he is telling.”
