66 Early the next morning, Danton and Waterstone were woken by the sound of hoofbeats. They scrambled out of the shelter in time to see Tarkyn, mounted on Boravar’s great warhorse, and Ancient Oak, mounted on a beautiful bay mare, cantering into the clearing. Midnight was perched in front of Tarkyn, and Sparrow in front of Ancient Oak. As they pulled up their horses, Danton dragged Waterstone behind a tree, “Oh my stars!” he exclaimed, “That’s a sorcerer out there. What’s he doing with woodfolk? Do you think he saw us?” Waterstone grasped the panic-stricken sorcerer’s arm, “Danton, Danton. Be calm. Not all sorcerers are bad.” Before he could say any more, Tarkyn appeared around the side of the tree, towering over them. “Danton, my friend. I am so glad to see that you are up and about.”
