70 Andoran and Sargon waited for darkness on the third night before making any effort to free themselves. They still felt groggy from the effects of Davorad’s charade and now, their hands were numb and stiff from days of being bound. So it took several frustrating attempts before Andoran was able to extract the tiny knife from where it had been thrust into the material inside the back of Sargon’s trousers. They had listened carefully for hours to learn the pattern of the new guards. They waited until they heard the guard walk slowly past the side of the tent before Andoran manoeuvred himself behind Sargon’s hands to start cutting through the thick rope that bound them.
