51 The wedding of Falling Rain and Tree Wind took place two weeks later when the rising of the moon would be late in the evening. Representatives from the forestals, harvesters, gatherers, mountainfolk and wanderers came together to celebrate their marriage and the unusually large numbers bore testament to the woodfolk’s wish to welcome Falling Rain back into the fold. The intervening weeks had been spent on bringing all woodfolk up to date with the events that had occurred since Tarkyn had left with the home guard to rescue Golden Toad and his family from the encampment. As they became more cognisant of the contributions made by the sorcerers to the welfare of the woodfolk nation, their attitudes had mellowed but the full breadth of their acceptance was yet to be tested.
