Once everyone was safely back across the stream, Tarkyn asked Rainstorm to send a request for all the home guard to gather around him. This was achieved in very short order since they had all been watching and awaiting his arrival.
Tarkyn took a deep breath, stamped on his pride and said quietly, “I am sorry that I disappointed you. When I saw woodfolk and sorcerers living side by side, I forgot that the sorcerers could not be allowed to return to the outside world to spread word of woodfolk as it suited them.” He let out his held breath, “And I am sorry that you felt the need to humiliate me as you did.
