Chapter 6: Pure Little Flower

POV ROSE***

"The hy-brid" I turned around to face James. "What the f**k is the hybrid". I moved past him and sat on the bed. I wrap my quilted bedding around me as James sits next to me. "He is the prince of the Dark-Forest kingdom; it was said that he was one of the first vampires from the first 100 B.C." I shifted awkwardly when I felt like someone was staring at me. I looked around the room and ignored the feeling. "It's said that he's murdering anyone that pisses him off when he comes to towns to collect payments for protecting the people". 

I looked up at him "So why did he murder my parents and how is he a hybrid?" I asked as he sighed. "Apparently your parents were hiding you from him and his palace and when they found you that you were alive they wanted you. Also he was originally a werewolf before he had become a vampire so that was how he became a hybrid along with some magic”.

I stood up and dragged the blanket with me as I walked to my book shelf and grabbed my parents' family locket. "Why me though?" I questioned as I turned around and bit my lip as James walked up to me. "Don't bite your lip like that unless you want to start something we can't finish until tomorrow morning". I felt my cheeks heat up as they darken in the shade of red. 

He smirked. "yet all the things we have done you still blush like a pure little flower" I rolled my eyes. As his eyes darkened "I'll punish you for that later but right now let me finish my little story time". I nodded as he walked to my bed and laid down. 

He patted the bed next to him as I walked over the bed and laid down. I rested my head on his chest "He wanted you because you looked like his mate from centuries ago" 

I began to play with his ring on his hand as I looked up into his dark green eyes "what happened to her?". 

James sighed. "She was killed by her fiancé. She was supposed to be wedded to but alas she pulled out of the agreement because she had fallen in love with Andrew. When she had gone to her parents' house to say goodbye her fiancé Stephan had killed her family and waited for her to come home to finish the job and when she came home he murdered her". I sigh as pull the blanket over over bodies. 

"So he murdered her, was she turned like us creatures of the night?". Jame shook his head. 

"No she was still human so was dead for good. But when Andrew had found out he whipped out everyone in Stephan's family and turned Stephan. Stephan is locked away in the kingdom's dungeon" I sat up from James' chest as I looked at him confused. 

"wait how do you know all of this?" He stood up and walked to my wardrobe. He opened it and pulled his favorite dress of mine and threw it on the bed. "Get dressed we leave when you're ready". I stood up from the bed as I dropped the blanket. 

"Wait James where are we going?" I said as I dropped my nighttime dress that James had ripped from the prior night. After slipping on my undergarments I grabbed my corset off the bed and put it on before I turned around so James could close it up. After he sighed and began tying the corset I looked at him through the mirror. "So are you going to tell me where we are going and how you know about the hybrid lover" He shook his head as he finished my corset and went and handed me my dress. 

My dress was an off the shoulder latest edition Victorian era dress. It had lace around the off the shoulder straps that matted the middle of my dress that ran down to my knees. The rest of the dress was an olive green color. I put on the dress as he grabbed my luggage from the bottom of my closet. "What are you doing James?" he shook his head. 

"We have to leave Rose. I am going to pack you a couple of dresses and night time gowns. I'll buy you more clothing but in that smaller luggage pack things that are important to you". I nodded as I grabbed my parents locket along with my bear my mom had knitted when I was a young child. I went into the living room and moved the family portrait and grabbed all the family's money along with all the jewelry passed down from older generations of my family. 

I went back into my room and James had finished packing my clothing. He grabbed my luggage, after handing me my hat from my bed. I put it on my head as he grabbed my hand and we walked out the house. We went through the back of the house to avoid seeing my parents dead bodies. We walked up to Daisy and William "Good morning madam daisy and sir William". I said as I petted Williams' head and touched Daisy's face. 

"I will be back. I am going to wake my family coachmen to take us  into the kingdom". I nod as I walked over the apple pin and grabbed two. After grabbing them I took off one of my gloves and gave them each an apple. After giving them an apple I grabbed a bag off the wall and filled it with many apples so the horses would be satisfied during the journey. After I filled the bag full of apples I walked over towards the luggage and saw the horses gone. I looked to my right and saw the coachmen finish up hooking up the horses. 

I grabbed the bag of apples as I walked over to the coachman Joseph. "Good morning Joseph," I said as I handed him the apples. He smiled as he grabbed the bag "Good morning Mrs. Rosaline how are you today?" I smiled as I put my other glove on " I am doing fine thank you for asking how about you how are you doing today?" 

He was about to answer but he was cut off by James who was holding a young lady. James looked into Joseph's eyes and told him. "Go sit in front of the carriage and ignore everything you hear until I tell you to leave". He nodded as he walked to the front of the carriage and sat down with the rains in his hand. 

James looked at me while holding the girl who looked void to everything. "Rosaline you need to feed to complete your transition then you have to stay in the carriage until we get to the local witch's house to make you a necklace or ring that will allow you to walk into the sun". I shook my head confused. 

"What do you mean feed?" he sighed as I saw his teeth sharpen as he lunged then into the poor lady's neck I gasped as my heart began to fill with guilt until I began to smell the metallic smell of blood filling my nostrils. The feeling of guilt was filled with hunger, I felt my eyes dilate as I restrained myself from lunging myself into her neck. James pulled away and walked to me holding the girl and motioned me to suck on her neck. 

I shook my head as I tried to back away but James grabbed my arm and forced me back toward him. "Rose you have to feed now, just don't kill her got it?" I nodded as I latched my teeth in her neck. I felt the blood enter my system as the rush of adrenaline kicked him. The metal I used to taste when James would feed me his blood was gone and it was replaced with pure sweetness. I began to suck faster as I felt euphoric, but I quickly pulled away as I felt her life begin to drain as she began to feel heavier in my arms. 

James nodded as he bit his arm and fed her some of her blood. "Why do you do that after we feed off of her?" I asked as I wiped my mouth with my clothing from my bag. After he finished giving her his blood he looked into her eyes and told her. "You will forget about this, you and I went on a walk after leaving the brothel and ended up having s*x behind a tree you loved it and walked back into the brothel when people ask of me face or what I looked like you will describe me as John from next door". She nodded as she winked and walked away. 

"Why did you say she will only remember John?" he smirked as he opened the carriage. "John has stolen my very first knife my father had given me and I had never heard the end of it. He's married and that little brute likes to brag about who she sleeps with and John is married so it'll be all over the town that he had slept with a bed warmer". I laughed as I got into the carriage. 

"Take us to the Martinez's please Joseph." Joseph nodded as James got into the carriage next to me. He wrapped his arms around me "How come we are going there right now?" he looked over at me and closed the curtains in the carriage. 

"Because I need her to enchant the necklace and your ring I gave you so you'll be able to walk in the sun without it burning you. 

I nodded as the carriage made its way down the road.

After we had finished at the Martinez's house we left and were now riding towards redwood the next town over. "James where are we going?" I asked as I looked over to him reading. He closed his book as he looked into my eyes. "You know how my father is a wealthy man and has come from generations of bourbon makers". I nod as he sat next to me 

"None of that is true, we come from a long list of vampires. My family was born around the same time of the hybrid. Stephan was actually our neighbor and the hybrid murdered my family thinking we were related to Stephan. When he had realized that we weren't related he turned us and apologized. He gave us loads of money and allowed us to stay with him in the kingdom until we bought a house in oats and that's when I had met you". He smiled as he kissed my hand. For the first time I felt shocks run through my hands as I quickly pulled away. 

"What was that?" I asked as James smiled. 

"My dear Rose we are mates".
