Chapter 76

1792 Words

SHULAMITE “Hmmm…" I felt myself shiver from a strong cold, as I slowly opened my eyes. I wondered how long I had been sleeping because I didn't remember anything at all. I could vaguely remember me sitting in the rain, and that was it. Nothing else to remember. “You’re finally awake!” I saw my sister, Miriam, smile at me as she removed a towel from my forehead, dip it into something that was out of my sight, before placing it back on my forehead. Looks like have a fever. “What are you doing here?” I asked, with my voice hoarse. I was slightly shivering from the cold, but I tried to conceal it. I don't want her to get worried. “Taking care of my sick and heartbroken sister, of course.” She smiled at me. “I’m not sick” I countered, throwing the wet towel on my forehead to the side.
