        Knock-knock-knock.         “f**k off,” I muttered, wrapping myself tighter with the blanket. I had put on the warmest clothes I could find once we got back, but I couldn’t stop shaking even after I felt my body breaking into a sweat. I kept my hands into fists to stop them from trembling, my fingernails digging into the soft flesh.         I had won, somehow. I was alive, and I was able to stop Everett from doing anything to me at the last possible moment. But somehow, it didn’t feel like a win.
