Chapter 10
Dean knew it was time to check in on his family. It has been several weeks since Colt’s surgery. Randy had insisted Dean stay with Colt, but Dean wanted to make sure all was well on the home front. He spoke to Randy once since leaving the hospital with Colt, but he wanted to check on his nephew and Rebecca, as well as find out how everything else was going. He had never been away from the ranch for so long.
When he dialed his brother’s number, it rang three times and went right to voicemail. There was no answer the second time he tried, which was odd. His brother usually had the phone attached to him. Randy had always been that way since they took over the ranch, always answering no matter the time of day.
