“Wow, that kid can sure ride.” Dean sounded like a proud papa and kissed Colt on the lips after coming in from the corral where Coop practiced his roping skills.
“He sure can. Kip and Mikey aren’t too bad themselves. Kip’s attitude changed a lot since being able to come out here after his last surgery and his prosthetic leg. His physical therapist said he’s been doing wonders. All these kids needed was someone to care. It’s a nice home away from home for them.”
Dean thought about all the kids went through in the last year and smiled. They seemed to be on the right track to healing.
