Author’s Note
In the process of writing and compiling this book, I went to Barton Prison to check their records and whatever other information they had. I wasn’t able to glean much from the available information, which, incidentally, was scant at best. However, I was able to put together a loose timeline of events.
Gordon Thompson was transferred from D Block back to A Block at 9:35 on Sunday, September 29th, 1974. He was allocated a cell two down from the cell Julian shared with Ian Preston. During Thompson’s time in A Block, Officer Nathan Gregson was fatally stabbed. There was a thorough investigation and an internal inquiry held, although his attacker was never discovered.
