I swallowed hard as I watched Caliban approach me.
"There's one thing you should know, nine times out of ten, Kael is always right," he stated as he pointed his fingers at the Kael in question.
I tried to force my intake of breath to remain even. I did not want Caliban to notice that his words were getting to me.
"If Kael thinks that you have a great role to play in this, then don't you dare play dumb. Tristan probably told you to pretend, didn't he?" He accused.
This caught me off guard and I widened my eyes at him before remembering that I was not supposed to give myself away by reacting. I blinked multiple times and returned my mask of cluelessness.
But it was already too late, Caliban had seen my reaction.
