My chest was heaving heavily as I took a few steps closer to the center of the hall. Everyone became silent and the air got filled with tension as they all turned their eyes to me the moment I stepped in. I didn’t care about the way they looked at me and whatever they said as I made my way forward.
It felt like a hammer was being used to heat my chest because of the way it was beating.
