I picked up my little bag using my hands to wipe my face as I sobbed. My fingers were shaky and the tears kept flowing endlessly. My chest was so heavy that it was hard to breathe. The betrayal I had experienced was more painful than any injury I had ever endured. No one believed me, not a single person. Not even my mate, Aiden. I thought he said he loved me and would always protect me.
I kept remembering everything that had happened, I couldn’t get my mind off it. The way he chose Cassandra’s dirty lie over my truth after looking into my eyes. A part of me wanted to scream, to ask him how he couldn’t see through that snake’s schemes. But another part of me understood that he hadn’t been there to see it happen. Still… if he truly loved me, shouldn’t he have trusted me?
