Aiden’s Pov
My heart almost stopped because of the way everything happened so fast. Rose managed to slip off his hands before he disappeared into the thin air. I felt like maybe the moon goddess had frozen time just for me. I ran so fast that I almost tripped, and caught her before she fell. Then I pulled her close and tightened my grip on her as if she was the most precious thing in the world, which she was. My chest was rising and falling heavily.
Thank goodness he didn’t take her away. My heart kept pounding hard in my chest as I kept thinking. I watched the woman I loved with all of my heart almost slip out of my hands. I almost lost Rose today. It just seemed very surreal to me.
The sounds of the fighting filled the air as the warriors kept clashing their swords and shouting.
