Cassandra’s Pov
When we got to the palace, the night had almost dissolved into morning. The sky was no more dark but it was not completely bright. The colour that shows before sunlight covered the land. During the night, the crickets that had been loud were beginning to get silent.
Caine didn’t take me directly into the palace. He didn’t want to take any chances at all. He stopped a little far away by a narrow path, leading to the woods and very close to the training ground. He looked left and right to see if there were any guards or eyes that were wandering. He didn’t want anyone to catch us sneaking into the palace by this time of the day. His face was so serious while he made sure that no one would ever suspect we were gone.
