“What happened babe?” Caine asked curiously, immediately he entered, his voice low and careful. He always kept his tone that way because it would be very dangerous if we were caught together.“Why did it take you so long to get the door? You know we’re not supposed to be seen together.”
I swallowed hard, as I tried to put myself together. The anger that I had been struggling with a couple of minutes ago was still there, but when his eyes landed on me, it just calmed down.
